It Churns to Light
by
Jackie Bustamante, Juan Munoz, Mel Finefrock, and Stacie Hernandez

A bit of background. When I went to the Texas School for the Blind in September 2004, some friends of mine and I wrote this. I was playing a simple finger picking piece on my guitar, and Stacie was all:

"Hey, keep playin'; I wanna sing to that." So she did, and Jackie wrote words. I kept playing guitar, and Juan played drums with anything he could find. Just the other day, I was bored, so I made actual chords for it. Anyway, here are the lyrics! it's secular but it was fun to write!

No matter how much I pray,
I still cry every day.
No one can take your place;
you put that smile across my face.

I look for happiness in your eyes.
When I’m with you, there’s no disguise;
I can be myself when I’m with you
‘cause there’s nothin’ I can do
‘cause I love you.

And when the stars are shining bright,
and when it’s dark into the night,
when you come into my arms,
it suddenly churns to light,
and when the stars are shining bright,
and it’s dark into the night,
when you come into my arms,
it suddenly churns to light.

You bring me happiness
and placed it in my hands.
Don’t have to worry about this;
remember back at our first kiss?

You touched my hand and then my face.
You kissed my lips with all your grace.
Then, you whispered in my ear.
The words you said were very clear.
You said: “I’ll always be here; there’s no fear.”

And when the stars are shining bright,
and when it’s dark into the night,
when you come into my arms,
it suddenly churns to light,
and when the stars are shining bright,
and it’s dark into the night,
when you come into my arms,
it suddenly churns to light.
It churns to light.

is that a song you'd sing too Jesus? It sounds like the kind of song that I would. smiles.

No, actually, this wasn't a Christian song; it was a love song.

Oh my gosh that song is awesome, and I can totally relate! Great job! Best love song I've heard in a while.

there are many songs though considered "secular" can also be considered "christian" as well. It depends on where you are at in your thot process at the time of listening. MelMel, I don't mean to be a bother here to you except to say, "love songs" can very well transend to the "spiritual" level... Connie
